Police were called just before 11:30 p.m. last night when a truck struck the Lord Selkirk Bridge on McNaughton Ave. in Wallaceburg.

Police believed the man was driving his truck while under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested.  The man was transported to police headquarters for breath tests where he refused.

A 49-year-old Tupperville man was charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit and refusing to provide a breath sample.

He was released pending a future court date of March 23, 2016.

His vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days.

 An hour later an officer on general patrol observed a man driving erratically on Harwich Road near Talbot Trail.

The officer initiated a traffic stop and through investigation believed the man was driving his truck while under the influence of alcohol.  The man was arrested and transported to police headquarters for breath tests.

A 30-year-old man from Talbot Trail in Ridgetown was charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.

He was released pending a future court date of March 23, 2016.

His vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days.
