Drugs, copper and electronics stolen

Thieves have been busy in Chatham during the past few days, targeting local firms.

Last night around 11:40 p.m. police responded to an alarm at Richmond Pharmacy in Chatham.  Through investigation, officers learned that the suspect(s) had damage the front door to gain entry and stolen a quantity of medication.

K9 Arry was called to the scene and four pill bottles were recovered in the area.  It is unknown at this time if those four bottles were all that were stolen.

Officers continue to work with the Pharmacy to determine if any medication remains outstanding.

Yesterday morning, thieves cut the lock to a fenced Union Gas compound on Riverview Drive.  Once inside, the suspect(s) stole a roll of used copper wire.

On March 5 at 2:20am, an unknown suspect cut through the fence of a business located at 380 Park Ave W. Chatham and stole $400.worth of copper. The suspect was wearing a balaclava and was not identified.  Anyone with information can contact Cst. Amy McLellan at amym@chatham-kent.ca or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

A day earlier suspects forced their way into triPhone Cellular on Queen Street and stole various electronics valued at approximately $5000.  Damage was estimated at $1000.
