With literally only hours left in the United Way campaign, Chatham-Kent residents have responded in a big way to the Everyday Heroes campaign.
During the last 24 hours, 33 people have stepped forward to pledge at least a dollar a day to the campaign, driving the total to 129 since the last push began in late December.
Officials projected the campaign would fall more than $200,000 short of its $2,015,000 goal, a number that would impact programs and services.
Donations can still be made by calling the United Way office at 519-354-0430 or online at uwock.ca
The campaign will officially close January 21.
