Chatham Kent Police were kept busy yesterday afternoon as four separate motor vehicle collisions caused nearly $40,000 in damages.

Around 12:15 p.m. police responded to a two vehicle collision on Grand Avenue East between Michener Road and Walker Road in Chatham. No one was injured. Total damage was estimated at $5000.

A 64-year-old Union man was charged with failing to yield the right of way.

Just before 1:30 p.m. police responded to a two vehicle collision on Grand Avenue West between Woods Street and Churchill Street in Chatham. No one was injured. Total damage was estimated at $15,000.

An 89-year-old Harwich Township man was charged with following too closely.

Shortly after 1:30 p.m.  police responded to a two vehicle collision on Richmond Street near Keil Drive in Chatham. One person sustained minor injuries. Total damage was estimated at $2000.

A 32-year-old woman was charged with following too closely.

Around 3:30 p.m. police responded to a two vehicle collision on Wellington Street near Lacroix Street in Chatham. No one was injured. Total damage was estimated at $15,000.

A 67-year-old man was charged with an offence contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
