A brazen thief attempted to steal three trucks within a half hour period this morning in Wallaceburg, finally succeeding on his third attempt.
Around 5:30 a.m. this morning, police responded to a residence on Queen Street in regards to an attempt theft. The homeowner called police when he observed a man sitting in his grey Chevrolet truck. The suspect fled the area on foot.
Around 5:45 a.m. police received information that an unknown suspect tried to steal a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado from a residence on King Street.
Around 6:00 a.m. the suspect stole a 2003 grey Chev Trailblazer from a residence on Albert Street. The truck was last seen with Ontario license plates BBHD 572 after stealing $56 worth of gas from Mac’s Milk on McNaughton Avenue.

Inspector Brian Biskey adds, “We are aware that numerous vehicles have been stolen from the Wallaceburg area over the past couple months. We are taking each one of these thefts very seriously. Our Crime Analyst is diligently compiling information from each theft in an effort to find a link. We are also sharing our information with neighbouring agencies in an effort to identify the suspect(s).”
Insp. Biskey continues, “As a police service, sworn to preserve and protect, we are feeling the same frustration as our community members in Wallaceburg. I can assure everyone today, that our front-line officers and support staff are working very hard to identity the person(s) responsible.
