The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man for impaired driving in after a vehicle hit a house in Highgate yesterday afternoon.
Around 2:07 p.m. police responded to a single motor vehicle collision where a vehicle struck a house in Highgate causing approximately $35,000 in damage. Upon police arrival, the driver was identified and had suffered minor injuries as a result of the collision. Through investigation, the officer believed that the driver had consumed alcohol. As a result the driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated and transported to Chatham Kent Health Alliance for treatment and a breath test.
A 56-year old has been charged with impaired driving and having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit. He was released with a future court date.
