Those attending this year's Remembrance Day services will notice that for the first time the sacrifices of the 158 Canadian soldiers who died while on the Afghanistan mission between 2001 and 2014 are memorialized. Chatham Kent council member Michael Bondy, shown here, made the motion to include that conflict on the monument in 2013.

  1. I am so disgusted. I have been out of the country. I am the very proud daughter of an amazing Koren War Vet named Gerry Lowes. I will pay to have this horseshit spellng error corrected. BUT it has to be before Nov 11. My office is right beside the cenotaph and when i am handing out warm cider, if that is NOT FIXED I WILL DUCT TAPE OVER IT. My sad reserves respect. He will be there in his war unform that he still can fit n to. chatham Council, fix this or I will. Mie, call me. 5193512888. Deb Lowes Verhey
