The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man and woman in connection with an assault complaint.

On September 25, 2015 around 10:00 a.m. the man and woman began texting a family member accusing him of theft.  Around 12:30 p.m. the pair attended his home in Wallaceburg and confronted him outside.  The woman exited the vehicle with a baseball bat and struck him in the legs multiple times and smashed two windows out of his vehicle.  The man was in possession of an axe and threw it, narrowly missing his family member.  Police were contacted and the pair fled the area.

Last night around 9:00 p.m. police located the man and woman and they were both taken into custody.  The 28-year-old man and 26-year-old woman, both from Muirkirk, have been charged with assault with a weapon and mischief under $5000.  They were both released pending a future court date of October 16, 2015.
