Last night, Chatham-Kent Police were dispatched to an address on Orchard Heights, Chatham, in regards to a domestic dispute. The 18 year old male complained of being assaulted by his 17 year old girlfriend. Through investigation, it was learned that the two parties were consuming alcohol together at his residence, earlier in the evening. A verbal argument ensued a while after, that turned into a physical altercation, and the female left the residence.
The female was later located, and it was learned that she was released on an undertaking from a previous domestic incident in July, 2015. One of the conditions upon her release from Police custody, was not to communicate with the male and to abstain from consuming alcohol.
As a result the 18 year old Chatham man was charged with Assault and Party to an Offence. The 17 year old female was charged with 2 counts of Breach of Undertaking. Both parties were lodged and held for a bail hearing.
