The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man for breaching his release conditions.
In February 2015, the man was released from custody with several conditions, including not to possess unlawful drugs, not to possess drug paraphernalia and not to possess any weapons. In March 2015, the man was again released from custody with similar conditions.
Just before 7:00 p.m. last night, an officer on general patrol observed the man riding his bicycle on Park Avenue West in Chatham. The man entered a fenced property through a small gap and was found hiding on CN Rail Property just north of the train tracks. The man was taken into custody as per the Railway Safety Act and searched incident to arrest. The officer found the man to be in possession of methamphetamine, syringes, drug paraphernalia and a canister of bear mace.
The 40-year-old Chatham man has been charged with 6 counts of failing to comply. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing
