Two St. Clair Catholic schools in Chatham-Kent will play host to a visiting delegation from the French ministry of education and the French embassy in Ottawa this week.
“We are pleased to welcome these visiting dignitaries from France and Ottawa and hope to learn more about an exciting initiative to twin our French Immersion schools with schools in France,” Deb Crawford, superintendent of education, said in a media release.
The delegation will visit Ursuline College Chatham and Monsignor Uyen Catholic School, as part of a tour of French Immersion programs; and meet with the directors of education for St. Clair Catholic and the Lambton Kent District School Board.
The school partnership would allow greater access for students share their learning on a regular basis, using Skype and other technologies.
It might also be of benefit for these functionaries to visit a Fench school such as Ecole Ste. Catherine where French is the primary language of instruction, but English is also taught.
