A scary incident on the weekend that sends chills down the backs of most parents – a vehicle backing out of a driveway in Chatham hit a child.
Police say this took place about 1:45 p.m. on Saturday on McNaughton Avenue East in Chatham.
According to police, the car was backing out of the driveway when the child ran behind it, getting hit. The child ended up underneath the vehicle.
Paramedics rushed the five-year-old boy to hospital with head injuries. He was transferred to the Children’s Treatment Center at Victoria Hospital in London.
Police report the child is now in stable condition.
