Chatham-Kent police are looking to speak with a man who offered a child a ride home recently in Thamesville.
Police say a Grade 6 student reported on April 2 about 8 p.m., while he was roller blading home in the rain, an older man stopped and asked if he needed a ride home. The boy declined. The man drove away and was last seen in the Wallace and Jane streets area.
Police say the man had brownish gray hair and a white beard. He was driving an older black Jeep with rust on it.
Another Thamesville citizen has since come forward with information that on the same evening, she saw a suspicious vehicle on Railroad Street at 5 p.m. the same day.
According to police, the woman reported it was a dark grey SUV with visible rust, and sporting a very loud exhaust system.
Anyone with information that may help identify the man or the vehicle(s) is asked to contact Const. Deb Lafreniere at debbiel@chatham-kent.ca or 519-436-6600, ext. 87142.
Iam not sure I get this, he didn't try to force him into vehicle and he didn't return. If I seen a child I'm the pouring rain I may have stopped also to c if he needed a ride, does that make me a bad person? No, alittle rediculus
