April is Cancer Awareness Month, and volunteers from the Chatham-Kent branch of the Canadian Cancer Society will be at various places in the municipality today through Sunday, and again April 17 and 18 selling daffodil pins.

There are also coin boxes located throughout Chatham-Kent.

The Canadian Cancer Society funds research on all types of cancer, offers comprehensive and credible information on cancer, risk reduction and treatment, and provides support for people living with cancer as well as for family members and friends.

Last year, 38 local volunteers made nearly 1,200 trips getting cancer patients to and from appointments, racking up nearly 244,000 kilometres on the road.
