Chatham-Kent police say a man tossed a back of pot out of his vehicle last night as he was getting pulled over.

He and his passenger are now facing drug charges as a result.

Police say an officer on general patrol saw a vehicle not come to a stop at a stop sign on Baldoon Road near Partridge Crescent Sunday night about 8:30 p.m. As the cop flipped on his lights to pull them over, police say he saw a clear plastic bag that contained marijuana get tossed out the driver’s side window.

The officer picked up the bag as he walked up to the vehicle. He learned the driver was bound by conditions no to possess drugs or drug paraphernalia.

Anthony Romano, 25, of Kingsville is charged with possession and two counts of failing to comply.

Vanessa Eltervoog, 22, of Blenheim, faces possession charges.
