A veteran Chatham-Kent police sergeant is facing 50 fraud charges.

Sgt. Robert Mugridge is charged with 47 counts of fraud under $5,000 and three counts of fraud over $5,000.

Chatham-Kent Police Chief Dennis Poole asked the London Police Service to investigate last July.

Mugridge will appear in court in Chatham Mar. 24. He remains suspended from duty and will face additional charges under the Police Services Act, police say.

  1. Yeah, screw the whole "innocent until proven guilty" bullshit, right? Let's close down all the courts! Waste of time, right? Fire all the judges! Actually, let's just get rid of the police and look after ourselves, right? Sheesh… SMH.

  2. No need to crucify anyone, but every day cops decide who is guilty and who is not simply to take cases to court and/or reduce backlog of courts. EVERY DAY, ask me, I know. But again they are humans.
