U10 Wildcats win two in Brantford

The Chatham-Kent Wildcats U10 Novice boys’ basketball team went 2-1 on weekend at the Paul Mitchell Tournament in Brantford.

The boys defeated the Brampton Warriors Friday night 27-25. Nicholas Moreno scored seven points to lead the Wildcats. Noah Dantas chipped in with six and Caleb Roberts and Jack Smolders scored four each.

Saturday morning, the Wildcats fell to the host Brantford Hawks 47-24. Declan Waddick led the way with nine points and Moreno added six.

In their final game, all of the boys reached the score sheet in a 47-13 win over Hamilton Blessed Sacrament. Caleb Roberts led a balanced attack with seven points while Carver Michaud, Jack Grochmal and Dantas all chipped in with six points.

Despite their 2-1 record, C-K failed to qualify for the medal round on Sunday due to a tiebreaker.
