Chatham-Kent police hope the public can help them solve a pair of recent break-ins in Chatham.

Sometime between Jan. 7 at 11:30 p.m. and Jan. 8 at 5 a.m., someone entered an unlocked residence in Orchard Heights. Thieves stole an HP laptop, two Nintendo DS gaming systems and video games. Estimated value of the stolen items is $5,000.

About midnight on Jan. 8, someone was seen cutting a lock of a chain from a gate leading into a fenced compound on Byng Avenue in Chatham. Police say the suspects entered two transport trailers and left the property via Currie Street.

They were last seen riding bicycles, and were wearing blue jeans, dark hoodies and carrying backpacks.
