A man turned himself into police about 6:30 a.m. this morning to face charges of assault in connection with domestic abuse.

Police say on Nov. 29, officers responded to a Chatham residence after a man and woman began arguing about 4:45 a.m. The argument escalated and the man punched the woman in the face, police say.

She fled and police got the call, but weren’t able to find the guy.

Officers soon learned he had hit her before, police say.

But this morning, a 27-year-old Chatham man turned himself in, and faces three counts of assault.
