It was a tinderbox weekend in Chatham-Kent.

First, a home on Mull Road near Blenheim caught fire Friday night.

Chatham-Kent Fire officials say they received a call shortly after 9 p.m. that the two-storey family home was burning. No one was home at the time of the fire.

Three stations responded, but the home was gutted, suffering an estimated $200,000 in damage.

The fire remains under investigation.

Early Sunday morning, fire broke out at a Langstaff Line home near Tupperville.

Firefighters from three stations responded, but arrived to find the fire had essentially spread to the entire building.

Estimated damage from the blaze is $100,000.

This fire is also under investigation.

On Sunday evening, just before 8 p.m., a tobacco barn on Erieau Road, went up in flames.

Fire officials say a passerby noticed an unusual amount of smoke coming from the barn, and called 911.

Firefighters from four stations fought the blaze, but the barn was lost, at the price of an estimated $200,000.

The cause is undetermined.
