Chatham-Kent Animal Rescue and the DOLRA (dog off leash recreation area) committee is holding the second annual Remember Me Thursday Candle-Lighting Ceremony Sept. 25.
The ceremony unites animal lovers and animal welfare organizations around the world to light candles in honour of the millions of pets who died without the benefit of a loving home.
The goal of the campaign is to raise awareness of the millions of healthy pets still waiting to be adopted.
The local Remember Me event takes place at 7 p.m. at the off leash recreation area.
