The Chatham-Kent Women’s Centre slid back under the fundraising umbrella of the United Way July 3.
The United way has long supported the women’s centre, having provided start-up capital for the original location on Queen Street, and various grants over the years. The two groups have also worked together on a number of community initiatives, including those associated with the United Way’s Women’s Leadership Council, Prosperity Roundtable and Youth Engagement Partnership.
The women’s centre had been on its own for more than a decade, having joined the United Way in the fall of 1979 and withdrawing in spring of 2004.
