An elderly Chatham man is dead following a single vehicle crash west of Chatham on a twisting road last night.
Chatham-Kent police say emergency crews responded to a call about 8:45 p.m. Wednesday on Tecumseh Line between Dauphin Road and Pump Road. Riverview Line becomes Tecumseh Line west of Prairie Siding.
Police say the man and his female passenger were eastbound when he lost control of his white Lincoln. The car left the road, rolled and wound up in a field.
The 74-year-old man was taken to hospital in Chatham but medical personnel were unable to save his life.
The passenger, a 49-year-old Chatham woman, was also taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
