Woman threw poo at police officers, cops say

The line, “If you have any poo, fling it now,” may have been funny in the movie “Madagascar,” but how about in real life?

Police say a Chatham woman, after being arrested yesterday morning, defecated in her jail cell and threw her feces at police officers.

The situation began when police responded to a residence on Victoria Avenue for a disturbance call about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. Officers arrived to see a woman kicking the front door of a home. She broke the glass in the door, causing about $500 damage, and then fled on foot, police say.

The officers caught up with her a short time later and allege she attempted to resist arrest.

They discovered she’d been at the same home in the middle of the night and allegedly assaulted the male homeowner.

The woman continued to be unco-operative at the police station and bit an officer’s hand, police say.

And then she flung poo.

A 28-year old Chatham woman is charged with assault causing bodily harm, mischief, resisting arrest and assaulting a peace officer.
