A Chatham-Kent man died last night when his truck crashed on Cundle Line south of Chatham.

Police are still investigating, but say about 7:30 p.m. Friday night, emergency personnel were called to the scene of a single vehicle accident on Cundle Line between Lagoon Road and Fargo Road.

The driver of a black pickup truck lost control of his vehicle as it headed east on Cundle, police say. The truck hit a hydro pole, went airborne, rolled repeatedly and came to rest in a field.

The driver, a 28-year-old Chatham-Kent man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police estimate total property damage from the collision at $30,000.

Cundle Line was closed for several hours Friday night as police investigated.

The Traffic Unit is still looking into the matter. Anyone with information is asked to contact Const. Michael Pierce at 519-355-1092 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
