Sir: I recently spent a few days in Hamilton. This is a city of narrow, one-way side streets, so is not comparable to Chatham for many reasons. But I came home with a very deep appreciation for our sidewalk and street cleaning crews, and our own personal “snow angel” (our thoughtful neighbour who keeps several properties dug out).
I walk with the aid of a cane. In Hamilton I had great difficulty trying to walk on these unplowed streets and sidewalks. Some residents did a good job on the sidewalk in front of their place, but others, not so much.
In other words, we have a wonderful snow clearing system here in Chatham, and I want to add my thanks, after witnessing what other cities are dealing with.
