The Chatham resident registered Friday at the clerk’s office to run for council in Ward 6, Chatham.
Hooker, well known on the South Buxton racing oval, joins Mark Holman and Aaron Hurst as the only three people to announce their plans to date to run in the 2014 municipal election, which takes place Oct. 27.
All three are running in Ward 6.
