The Maple City Electric U-19 Chatham Thunder won gold at the 39th Annual Cambridge ringette tournament this past weekend.
Chatham opened the tournament with a loss, falling 3-1 to Waterloo. Hannah Doforno had the lone Chatham marker.
The loss sparked the Thunder into action, as they downed Elora-Fergus 3-2 in the next match and never looked back.
Kayla Therrien, Tristen Stewart and Kara Hueniken scored for Chatham.
Cambridge next fell victim, 4-1. Doforno had two goals to lead the way, while Courtney Roberts and Carys Owen chipped in with singles.
Hueniken had a hat trick as Chatham next topped Mississauga 5-1. Doforno had the other two Chatham markers.
In the final, Chatham edged Glouster-Cumberland 4-3. Stewart, Therrien, Doforno and Roberts scored for Chatham.
