Ursuline College students will be out and about again this Halloween, but they don’t necessarily want your chocolate and candy.

Staff and students take part in the eight annual food drive.

We Scare Hunger is a project of the school’s Me 2 We Club.

The gatherers will be canvassing door-to-door from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. to collected canned goods.

All donations go to local food banks.

Residents who want to donate but don’t happen to get a knock on the door Halloween night can drop off goods to UCC in Chatham, the fire hall in Blenheim and St. Michael Parish Centre in Ridgetown.

Last year, the food drive brought in more than 16,00 canned goods.

“Our Halloween food drive is a great success every year, thanks to our dedicated students, staff and volunteers, who work hard on behalf of the people in our community who need our help,” UCC principal Ray Power said in a release.  “I especially want to thank Chris Gutteridge for his work in helping to organize this tremendous event each year.”
