To celebrate the facelift recently completed at Thames Lea Plaza, its corporate owner, Brad-Lea Meadows, will hold a grand re-opening Aug. 2.

Dean Bradley, president of Brad-Lea Meadows, said the entire community is invited to show up and enjoy carnival events, visit the stores and witness an “entertaining” ribbon cutting at 11:30 a.m. with the mayor.

There will also be face painting, a bouncy castle, carnival events and popcorn for the children from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“I am very excited to invite the community to the new face of Thames Lea Plaza,” Bradley said in a press release. “We are very pleased with the new face of the plaza for all retailers and especially excited to welcome our new retailers, Target, Sport Chek, PetValu, and Carter’s OshKosh.”

People attending the event could win a “Long Weekend Survival Kit.” The prize is comprised of a gas barbecue, patio set and other summer gifts donated by participating Thames Lea retailers. Ballots will be available at the aforementioned retailers.
