Eighty kids had supportive shoppers and descended on WalMart early Saturday morning for a little Christmas shopping.
The kids, nominated to participate in the annual Holiday with a Hero event, received gift cards to purchase gifts for family members and themselves.
They each had the shopping assistance of a “hero” – a member of local law enforcement, EMS or a firefighter.
The tag-team effort got the shopping done and the kids went onto a breakfast, crafts, and time with Santa at the Bradley Centre following the shopping excursion.
The event is made possible thanks to donations from local businesses and residents.
