• The 62nd Annual Lenten Noon Hour Interdenominational Service will be held at Christ Church, 80 Wellington St. W., Chatham (beside the bus depot) beginning at 12:10pm until 12:35pm and will be followed by a sandwich luncheon in the parish hall.  The theme this year is “The Peace That Passes All Understanding.”  The speaker this week is The Rev. John Maroney, Christ Church Chatham.  Free will offering to help Outreach within our community.

Monday, April 8, 2024:
• Solar Eclipse Watch Party. Backus-Page House Museum is directly in the path of this once in a lifetime event!! Join us from 12pm to 5pm. Eclipse glasses will be available to the first 200 at a nominal fee. Throughout the day there will be activities for all ages along with a food truck and an ice cream truck!

• Reading Buddies offers free one-on-one assistance to children in grade 1 to grade 6 who would like practice reading. Reading Buddies allows children to improve their literacy skills through literacy-based games, activities, and high-interest readers. Volunteers spend 30 minutes weekly with a child for six weeks fostering a love of reading in a supportive, relaxed environment. Reading Buddies is offered at Chatham Branch on Monday evenings from April 8 to May 13. Appointment times are available between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm and are available in both French and English. • Kent Branch Of The Ontario Genealogy Society and with Esses OGS Branch presentation at 7 pm-Zoom Presentation. Speaker: Dez Nacario, Archivist, Diocese of Huron Archives  . Title: Genealogical Research through Religious Repositories. Religious institutions are rich in local and familial historical records. Join Dez Nacario, Archivist for the Diocese of Huron, in a presentation on research services available to genealogists using Anglican archives as an example. Bio: Dez Nacario is the Archivist for the Anglican Diocese of Huron. She holds a Master of Libraries and Information Science from Western University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology/Religious Studies. Dez is passionate about diversifying the GLAM world and creating professional opportunities for individuals from historically excluded communities. There will be handouts.
