• Merlickin’ pork chops with scalloped potatoes, vegetable, bun and dessert at the Merlin Legion Br. 465, 2 Stanley Street Merlin.

• Join Wallaceburg writer John Gardiner and Chatham singer/songwriter Julie Ross for an evening of words and music at the Turns and Tales Board Game Café at 7:30 p.m. It promises to be a warm, intimate event where Gardiner will read from his original writings and Ross will present a wonderful collection of tunes woven through the author’s stories. This is a free event, but the hat will be passed and there will be merchandise for sale just in time for the Christmas season.

• Community Living Chatham-Kent’s Community Christmas Concert will be at St. Paul’s Congregational Church, 450 Park Ave. W., Chatham from 7:00pm-9:00pm. Doors open at 6:15pm. Admission: cash donation. All proceeds stay in Chatham-Kent to enrich the lives of people who have diverse abilities by providing quality services, and meangingful, and inclusive opportunities. Performers include: Cornell School of Irish Dance, Pine Street Performers, Bailey Baggio, Camryn Dudley, The Ginty Family.

Celebrate the timeless and powerful Christmas story with awe and wonder through fresh narrative, scripture and song as we seek together to magnify the Christ.  This will be a free concert with a freewill offering in support of a local charity being taken at the door.

• Festive Christmas Music – Pipe Organ Music of the Season featuring Dr. Wayne Carroll, organist emeritus of Knox Presbyterian Church, St. Thomas. Chatham Centre of the Royal Canadian College of Organists in conjunction with Holy Trinity-St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Chatham is planning a 3-week Advent pipe organ series at the church. All recitals occur on 3 Thursdays in December and begin at 12:15 and will be approximately 45 minutes. Each recital is a very informal “come and go” format.  Come for 1 or 2 pieces, or stay for the entire concert.  Bring your lunch and eat while you enjoy listening. Everyone is welcome to attend. Recital schedule: Thurs. Dec. 1 – Dr. Wayne Carroll. Thurs. Dec. 8 – Dr. Carroll with Kathleen Gahagan, harpist. Thurs.
