Over the years Rick has removed all non-natives from his half-acre back yard in Ridgetown, replacing them with over 300 species (and counting) of native plants and his garden has been part of several organized garden tours in recent years. Rick has recently started to provide consulting services to design native plant gardens in Southwestern Ontario and he is very active on several native plant gardening Facebook groups. He regularly posts articles about native plants on his website nativeplantgardener.ca. Most recently Rick’s book, “Gardener’s Guide to Native Plants of the Southern Great Lakes Region”, made the Globe and Mail Bestseller Non-Fiction list! Enjoy an afternoon listening to Rick share his experiences and his expertise and find out how CKPL’s Seed Library can help you get you started as a native gardener.
