Witnesses sought in street assault

Chatham-Kent police are looking for witnesses to an assault that sent a man to hospital early this morning.

Police say the incident occurred about 2 a.m. Sunday morning, on King Street West in Chatham.

A 44-year-old Chatham man sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital for medical attention.

911 hangup leads to charges

On Saturday evening, police attended a residence in Dresden after receiving a 911 hang up call. 

Through investigation, police learned that there was a man with numerous outstanding warrants located at the residence. Police attended, and after a short foot pursuit, the man was arrested. 

As a result of this incident, a 24-year old Dresden man was charged for a domestic-related breach of probation charge and drug possession. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Drunk in public

Around 1:45 a.m. Sunday morning, police responded to the report of an unwanted person at a residence on Margaret Avenue in Wallaceburg.

For her own safety, the intoxicated woman was taken into custody as she was unable to care for himself. 

A 40-year-old Wallaceburg woman has been charged with being intoxicated in a public place. She will be released when sober.
