A post-mortem identified 46-year-old Terry Want as the person found in the Thames River on Monday morning.
On Monday, police responded to a report of a human body in the river along Grande River Line in Dover Township.
With the assistance of Chatham-Kent Fire & Emergency Services, the body was recovered from the river.
A post-mortem was conducted Tuesday in London and the man was identified as Want who was last seen Oct. 23, 2020 in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service continues to work with the Coroner’s Office, however, Want’s death is not believed to be suspicious.
“Members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service offer their deepest condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Want,” it stated in a press release.
