Nothing says it’s the holiday season quite like bopping a senior citizen, right?

That appears to be the case in Ridgetown, at least for a 21-year-old Thamesville man.

Police say on Dec. 13 well after closing time, officers responded to a scrum in the parking lot of the Arlington Tavern. When the cops arrived, everyone cleared out.

But shortly afterwards, police say a man went to a York Street residence to confront another young fellow in regards to the parking lot scuffle.

As the young dude’s 65-year-old relative exited the home, words were exchanged and the next thing you know, the senior got smacked and wound up having to go to hospital for treatment.

Police located their suspect last night and arrested a 21-year-old Thamesville man.
