Chatham-Kent business, Curative Cannabis, in partnership with Economic Development, Chatham-Kent Workforce Planning Board, Goodwill Career Centre, and Employment and Social Services, is hosting a job fair on April 10.

It is taking place from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Active Lifestyle Centre located at 20 Merritt Ave. in Chatham.

The event is open to anyone looking to apply for positions at Curative Cannabis. Attendees are invited to join one of two presentations that will provide an introduction to senior management and their goals for Curative Cannabis. The first presentation will start at 2:30 p.m. and the second repeat presentation will start at 5:45 p.m. It is important to note that it is not necessary to come to both sessions.

Following each presentation, attendees will have a chance to mingle with staff and complete a job application. Once attendees have completed their job applications, they will go to the pre-screen table where they will either be scheduled for an immediate one-on-one interview or will be called later for follow up.

The Curative Cannabis building, located at 10078 Longwoods Rd. near Louisville, is completing construction on a 30,000 sq.-ft. facility.

Curative Cannabis is a new Chatham-Kent business and is looking to hire a total of 28 new staff in a wide range of positions, including Accountant/Bookkeeper, Quality Control Technician, Grow Technician, Inventory Manager, Harvesters, Sanitation Technician, Laboratory Manager/Technician, and Front Office Staff (Reception/Administration).

This is the first time Curative Cannabis has approached the community looking to hire and most of the new positions are full-time, with the Harvester positions being part-time.

“This is another great company that has chosen to establish themselves in Chatham-Kent,” said Kim Cooper, Economic Development Officer with Chatham-Kent Economic Development. “Being new to the area, they reached out to us for help in accessing our local talented workforce and we were able to provide them with connections to some excellent partners as well as work to coordinate a job fair.”

The state-of-the-art facility has been equipped with an industrial grade multi-stage air treatment carbon filtration system to reduce and treat the emission of pollen, dust, and odours expelled from the facility.
