A 12-year-old boy was arrested and charged with assault Friday while on a bus home.
The youth was on the bus going home from school when he got into a verbal argument with a young girl which escalated into a physical altercation as he threw three rocks at her head. After being dropped off at home, the 11-year-old girl was transported to the hospital for medical attention.
The 12-year-old Chatham boy was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon. He was released pending a future court date of June 20.
Sad story, at least he was charged.
