Santa Claus can sit down and relax Dec. 2 as Blackburn Radio and McKinlay Funeral Homes Ltd. look to help the Chatham Goodfellows with their “No Child Without a Christmas” campaign.

The two organizations challenge local residents and businesses to bring in an unwrapped toy or gift to the Real Canadian Superstore in support of the Chatham Goodfellows’ campaign.

Each person who donates will receive a ballot for a chance to win a $500 Visa card to help out just before the holidays.

Through donations and volunteer efforts, the Goodfellows have helped Chatham-Kent residents have a Christmas to remember by ensuring there are toys for the children and food for a holiday meal. Last year more than 1,400 food baskets and toys for 1,100 children were distributed, costing well over $100,000.

Similar numbers are expected for this year.
