Accident leads to impaired charge

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man for impaired driving in Chatham.
Around 6:00 p.m. last night, police responded to a single motor vehicle collision near the area of St. Clair Street and Lowe Street in Chatham. Upon police arrival, the driver was identified and suffered no injuries as a result of the collision. Through investigation, the officer believed that the driver had consumed alcohol. As a result the driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated and transported to Chatham Kent Police headquarters for further breath test.
A 30-year old Chatham man has been charged with impaired driving and having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit. He was released with conditions pending a future court date.
